Governor Patrick's Young Adults Forum: What's Your Massachusetts?

Thursday, October 8, 2009

Hi all, I came upon the Governor's Engage! Blog and wanted to pass along this opportunity to hear and give feedback to the Governor and his administration. It sounds like a great event, so I wanted to pass it along to anyone who may be interested in attending. Please see below for details! -Julia Gov. Patrick and members of his administration are hosting a series of Young Adult Forums to discuss issues relevant to 18-35 year olds in Massachusetts. Thursday, October 8th 6:00PM Northeastern University—Cabral Center 40 Leon St. - West Village F, Boston (Right after Northeastern University’s Regional Career Fair from 2-6pm) All are welcome– please RSVP at grassroots.governance@state.ma.us For more information visit http://engage.blog.state.ma.us/blog/young-adults/ Summary: This listening tour is an opportunity for the Administration to ask young people to stay and ask for their input on the state's issues, as well as give them a chance to network with each other and discuss a common vision. The event will include Governor Deval Patrick and a panel of young leaders at Northeastern University to continue this important conversation. Description: Young people are central to the economic and civic growth of the Commonwealth. This initiative is aimed at making sure young people are attracted to Massachusetts; see this as a place to start companies, launch a career and build a home and family. This applies equally to people who are from Massachusetts- making sure they can make their dreams happen here; and to retaining young people who come here for education or work. Over a hundred young people have already joined the conversation in Springfield and Dartmouth during September meetings with Secretaries Greg Bialecki and Suzanne Bump of the Executive Offices of Housing and Economic Development and Labor and Workforce Development.
