Hiring Assistant Directors to Direct a Clean Air Campaign

The rules have changed. We are no longer just up against candidates
challenging our issues. This year we are facing unlimited spending
from corporations and outside sources. Unlimited funding that is
being used to push forward the most extreme candidates we have seen in
recent memory; candidates looking to challenge progressive advances on
every issue from marriage equality to environmental protections.

Even though the rules have changed, the progressive movement still has
one advantage: the people. By running people-powered campaigns, we
are able to harness this advantage and win on these issues. If you
want to make an impact on these issues and protect reproductive
rights, advance equality, and defend the environment, this is the best
way to do it.

Grassroots Campaigns is looking for leaders to help run campaigns all
across the United States. Assistant Directors will help manage one of
our campaign offices by building the community support, educating the
public and recruiting new members for one of the progressive
organizations or charities we partner with.

Job responsibilities include:

Recruit a team of 10-40 canvassers to represent top issue-based
organizations on the front lines of the progressive movement.
Responsible for developing and implementing a plan to hire talented
staff.

Manage, train and develop staff into activists and leaders in a
canvass office. Work with staff to develop them into the next leaders
of the progressive movement.

Canvass to raise funds and build support in the community. Lead staff
by example and work on the front lines for the most important issues
facing our nation.

Requirements for Position:

Strong communication and motivational skills, work ethic, and desire
for political change are essential. Candidates must be able to work
within a team, have proven leadership ability and an orientation
towards handling a lot of responsibility. Strong self-direction and
the ability to take initiative are also necessary qualifications.
Previous field or canvassing experience is a plus, and may qualify
candidates for additional leadership positions.
