About the Center

Our mission is to engage in health care reform on a national and state level given the power and potential of the youth voice; empower local organizations, clinics, and nonprofits by actively researching and volunteering for greater positive impact in the community; and promote policy ideas of students and leaders advocating for progressive change.

Previous topics that Roosevelters have focused on, including featured policy in the 10 Ideas series, include telehealth, nutrition, electronic medical records, health equity, insurance access, end of life care, insurance mandates, and impact of community health centers. Also, advocacy and achieving impact across communities, states, and the nation are major tenets of this center given the current health care debate and the potential influence we can exert as an organization, making proactive progressive health policy our main goal.
