Projects and Programs
In addition to writing policy in our six policy centers, members from chapters across the country engage with Roosevelt through programs like the Roosevelt Academy and specials projects like those that Roosevelt sponsors or members design.
HYDE PARK 2010
The 6th annual Hyde Park Summit runs from August 12th through the morning of August 15th, 2010. We ask that each chapter send two representatives, and preferably incoming chapter leadership. This Roosevelt Campus Network annual retreat is where these leaders from across the country convene for training, networking with other chapter heads, and an important discussion of the organization's trajectory in the coming year.
No more than two students will be permitted to attend where it would mean the exclusion of representatives from other chapters; additional members will be considered for travel stipends if funding is still available. See here for additional details and registration information.
Roosevelt Summer Academy
The Roosevelt Summer Academy combines a full-time internship with a training curriculum and weekly networking events as part of an integrated program of leadership development. Our objective is to bring new, diver, and progressive voices into the political process. The program runs for 10 weeks from June to August.
During the summer of 2010, we'll be running two concurrent programs: The Washington Academy and The Chicago Academy. The Washington Academy will place a total of twenty students at the Roosevelt Institution's national office as well as at organizations like the Center for American Progress, the Economic Policy Institute, the Brookings Institute, National Security Network, and many others. The Chicago Academy will place ten students with different Chicago City Agencies to work on energy and environmental policy in an urban setting.
Each fellowship comes with a minimum $1500 stipend. Applicants with financial need may qualify for additional funding. We are deeply committed to assembling a diverse group of Academy Fellows and will work with each person accordingly.
We are no longer accepting applications for the summer 2010. Stay tuned for information about the summer 2011 program coming next January.

Roosevelt @ UGA is pleased to announce the Fifth Annual Roosevelt @ UGA Policy Symposium. This conference draws together students from Roosevelt chapters across the country to work with UGA students in an effort to share knowledge and develop innovative policy. We are approaching this year’s conference with a clear vision: that the weight of the decisions made by leaders today fall on the shoulders of our generation. Therefore, we must help steer the conversation and create policy for the future that we desire. We will be discussing solutions to five important problems that our generation will face. Through collaborative effort and discussing policy solutions with esteemed UGA faculty and local policymakers, we will produce policy memos to be disseminated at the close of the conference. Hope to see you there! Register for the conference here.
