Projects and Programs

In addition to writing policy in our six policy centers, members from chapters across the country engage with Roosevelt through programs like the Roosevelt Academy and specials projects like those that Roosevelt sponsors or members design.

 Roosevelt Summer Academy

The Roosevelt Summer Academy combines a full-time internship with a training curriculum and weekly networking events as part of an integrated program of leadership development.  Our objective is to bring new, diver, and progressive voices into the political process. The program runs for 10 weeks from June to August.

During the summer of 2010, we'll be running two concurrent programs: The Washington Academy and The Chicago Academy. The Washington Academy will place a total of twenty students at the Roosevelt Institution's national office as well as at organizations like the Center for American Progress, the Economic Policy Institute, the Brookings Institute, National Security Network, and many others. The Chicago Academy will place ten students with different Chicago City Agencies to work on energy and environmental policy in an urban setting.

Each fellowship comes with a minimum $1500 stipend. Applicants with financial need may qualify for additional funding. We are deeply committed to assembling a diverse group of Academy Fellows and will work with each person accordingly.

We are no longer accepting applications for the summer 2010. Stay tuned for information about the summer 2011 program coming next January.

A networking lunch will provide opportunities for follow-up with conference participants. On Sunday, student presentations and a policy training workshop will be held to encourage chapter project innovation and cross-chapter collaboration. Accommodations are provided.

Register HERE.

Roosevelt Expo

The expo brings together partner organizations of the Roosevelt Institute Campus Network to hear the best policy pieces produced from each center within the organization and elect to adopt pieces that suit their organization's interests for further campaigning, promotion, and implementation efforts. Student authors from across the country will convene to present their most outstanding pieces, promote their work to interested partners, and elicit feedback on their progressive ideas.

Hyde Park 2010

Two representatives from each chapter will be asked to attend Hyde Park 2010 in August of next year.  We strongly encourage these individuals to be part of the incoming leadership for their chapter.  Hyde Park Summit is the Roosevelt Campus Network's annual retreat where these leaders from across the country convene for training, networking with other chapter heads, and important discussion of the organization's trajectory in the coming year.

A registration link will be posted here - no more than two students will be permitted to attend where it would mean the exclusion of representatives from other chapters.
