Erika Solanki is a student at the University of California, Los Angeles, where she will graduate in 2012 with a B.A. in International Development Studies and a minor in Public Affairs. Solanki has served as the Pacific Regional Coordinator for the Campus Network for the past two years, where she helped organized multiple conferences. She has published policy pieces on social entrepreneurship, international development and the U.S. federal budget. Solanki has an unwavering commitment to achieving universal human rights, as demonstrated by her involvement with Amnesty International for the past eight years. She co-founded the super active UCLA chapter in 2009. After graduation, Solanki hopes to enter law school, where she will specialize in international contract law. She hopes to work within international frameworks, both to enforce structure and to shape more effective mechanisms. She's especially interested in the International Criminal Court (ICC), the transparency and effectiveness of the United Nations, protecting universal human rights, fostering child development, building education systems, and promoting freedoms effectively.
